Good Practice: Subscribing to RSS feeds

Over the past few weeks I’ve started a practice of subscribing to Web development related RSS feeds – from the small to large scale operations. In the past, I generally ignored everything other than the big ones (i.e. Smashing Magazine, A List Apart, etc); the problem with that being there is a lot of good articles and resources out there not referenced by these sites.

What I’ve started doing is subscribing to near everything I find, as long as it looks legitimate. My Bloglines reader list is approaching 100 (Website feeds), with no signs of slowing down.

It’s truly remarkable when you consider the vast amount of free resources there are out there for Web developers. From icons and patterns to full-scale Photoshop layouts – it’s there – as long as you can find it! So why not do yourself a favour and subscribe to these sites so you can be kept abreast on any new posts or freebies that they offer!
