To check, or not to check?

I’m on vacation this week – great opportunity to relax and rewind from the stress and grind of life. However, the age old (?) question that pops up while one is on vacation needs to be dealt with:
Do I check my work email while on vacation?
There are two schools of thought on this issue. One says you do what you’re supposed to do on vacation – forget about work and just relax! The other says that if you don’t stay in the loop with your work email, it’s going to be massive pile to dig through come Monday (first day back at work).
Sigh. Guess I’ll check my email. Keeping alive the Quest for the Empty Inbox.
